Heartbeats & Hands 540 Awarded $1,500 Grant from Junior League of Cobb-Marietta to Launch Cole’s Initiative.

Heartbeats & Hands 540 (HH540) is proud to announce that we have been selected as a recipient of the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta (JLCM) Mini Grant, receiving $1,500 to support the launch of Cole’s Initiative in Cobb County. This initiative aims to provide financial literacy education to youth by distributing 300 free copies of the book I Graduated…Now What?, written by Deborah Benard, and hosting interactive workshops featuring the author and financial advisors.

Cole’s Initiative is a youth financial literacy program inspired by HH540’s commitment to empowering young people with the knowledge and skills needed for financial success. Last year, HH540 sponsored the publishing of I Graduated Now What?, a guide designed to help young adults navigate personal finance, savings, and financial independence. With the support of JLCM, we are excited to expand this program to Cobb County, equipping teens and young adults with critical financial education resources.

The Junior League of Cobb-Marietta (JLCM) is a women’s organization dedicated to advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Established in 1933, JLCM has played a vital role in supporting children, families, and nonprofit organizations across Cobb County. Through its grant programs and community initiatives, JLCM provides resources to local organizations working to improve the well-being of the community.

“We are incredibly honored and grateful to receive this grant from JLCM,” said Nicole Hill, Founder of Heartbeats & Hands 540. “This partnership allows us to expand Cole’s Initiative into Cobb County and provide young people with essential financial literacy tools. We look forward to collaborating with schools and youth programs to ensure that financial education is accessible and impactful for the next generation.”

HH540 will attend the JLCM Grant Reception on May 13 to officially accept the award. The organization is currently seeking schools, community programs, and volunteers to support Cole’s Initiative. More details on upcoming workshops and book distribution events will be announced soon.

About Heartbeats & Hands 540:

Heartbeats & Hands 540 is a philanthropic volunteer organization dedicated to fostering meaningful connections between individuals and impactful volunteer opportunities at charitable and non-profit organizations across the state of Georgia. Established in 2022 by our founder, who, after experiencing a stillbirth in 2021, envisioned Heartbeats & Hands 540 as a vehicle for spreading joy amidst grief.

Our organization draws its name from the symbolism of the heartbeat, representing the unifying organ we all share that gives us life, and hands, symbolizing the spirit of helping hands reaching out to those in need. The number 540 holds a special significance, representing 540Hz—the frequency of joy. Heartbeats & Hands 540 is committed to making a positive impact on individuals and communities, guided by the belief that joy and support go hand in hand.

Through our volunteer initiatives and partnerships with charitable organizations, we aim to create a network of compassion and service, bringing comfort to those facing challenges and spreading joy where it is needed most. Join us in our mission to build a community of caring hearts and helping hands, uplifting one another, and making a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
